Earth's atmosphere is a thin layer of air around the Earth. Without the atmosphere it would be too hot in the day and too cold at night. Earth's atmosphere balances the heat and it protects us from sun rays.
The atmosphere has a mixture of gases, liquids and solids like nitrogen, water vapor, and dust.
